Rosie Taekema (Robertsbridge, East Sussex, 1994)
Rosie Taekema is a cello student at the Prins Claus Conservatorium, Groningen. She is half English and half Frisian (hence the surname) but was born and raised in England. Although she studies classical music at the conservatory, she is open to and seeks opportunities to broaden her repertoire to any other genre. She already has some experience in a psychedelic folk band. She plays with other jazz, pop and experimental musicians and has worked as a studio musician. Some other albums that she is featured on are Thomas Zwijsen’s “Divide and Unite” and Stuart Mavis’s “Soy Milk”. She also offers cello lessons in English. She is currently building a website which already has a few recordings on it but is so far unfinished. Nevertheless, it exists and can be found at rosietaekema.com.
